This is the heights. First, the author is projecting his own notions on what the guy may/may not have felt. The fact is when someone feels discriminated, they usually focus on the sole thing that makes them feels alienated and unwanted. Human nature. They'd never say 'oh look I'm a Brahmin YET that's being undercut by my color'.

​Second (yes, you knew this was coming), to be saying 'But the fact is that it is worse to be dark-skinned and upper-caste in India' is laughable but moreso tragic. Its like whites complaining about reverse racism.

​I appreciate this author's contrarian takes on most matters under the sun but since the last couple of pieces, am really beginning to wonder if brilliant wit and satire are worth what is gradually being revealed as a weird and twisted take on life and reality.
